Plastic and wiest in the rivers in Indonesia

The fashion industry is one of the most polluting and unethical industries in the world, where disregard for both people and our planet runs deep.

Building a movement of change

By radically redefining the way we work and by utilising our extensive experience as investigative documentary filmmakers, we are on a mission to help shift the course of the fashion and manufacturing industries from within. We have 3 core pillars; People, Planet and Performance.

GROUNDTRUTH Purpose - A green forest

PEOPLE

We believe that humanity and the environment are inextricably linked and that the people who make our bags are as important as the people who buy them.

A hand built supply chain

We have hand built our ecosystem of partners who share both our values and vision for the future. Grounded in relationship building, we have forged strong partnerships for our bag manufacturing and our material development. We film and document every step to ensure we can be as transparent as possible.

GROUNDTRUTH People in the ethical manufacturing

Bluesign® Certified Partners

Our bags are made in a family-run Bluesign® certified manufacturer in Jakarta whose exemplary attitude towards worker wellbeing and sustainability sets them apart as a leader in their field.

Employing workers from the local area prevents harmful family separation that is widespread within this industry, while shorter hours help create a healthy work/home balance. Our workers are provided with access to training, healthcare and access to education for their children.

  • Bluesign® Certified since 2014
  • ISO14001-2015, ISO 45001-2018, ISO 9001-2015
  • 85% females in management roles.
  • Gender pay equality.

PLANET

Through our work around the world, we have witnessed the harmful effect that human activity is having on the environment. We are working to reduce and mitigate the impact of climate change, to minimise pollution, and to preserve valuable natural resources.

Materials at the vangaurd of green innovation

We are working towards becoming a leader in sustainable manufacturing and material innovation. Through rigorous research and strong partnerships we now have an advanced portfolio of bespoke 100% recycled materials, a patent-pending captured CO2 emissions hardware, biodegrading packaging and an achievable set of environmental KPIs.

Offsetting our carbon footprint

From business travel to production to material manufacturing, we offset our entire carbon footprint with Wildlife Works and their Mai Ndombe project, located in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, which protects over 740k acres of the world’s second-largest rainforest.

Through this project, we are helping to establish job opportunities in community outreach, forest monitoring and agriculture intensification to prevent these indigenous rainforests from being destroyed.

PERFORMANCE

Functionality is at the core of our design ethos and we trial and test every product - for style, function and our newly innovated materials.

Built to last

The fast fashion industry as well as low quality product fuels global pollution. At GROUNDTRUTH, we create products that are built to last with advanced textiles and the highest quality of manufacturing. We offer a 15 year warranty and are now working on an end of life product return policy.

High performance testing for GROUNDTRUTH products

Field Testing

We take product testing to the extreme. Not only do our materials go through rigorous testing, each new design is field tested in the environment it was designed for. Along with ourselves making rigorous testing our selected ambassadors use the products in their work. The RIKR range was tested in Antarctica by renowned polar explorer and environmentalist Robert Swan OBE.
